En cours de route is an initiative by artist and architect Anthony Duffeleer in which he intuitively invites a number of fellow artists to show together at a unique location in the Flemish Ardennes.

Duffeleer consciously opts for a short, powerful passage, not a long-term exhibition. The momentum and the interactions between artists make the exhibition, there is no theme, no curator, it is a passage based on the power of art and artists. 

The location is unique, a former chicory factory, now also the home base of Delmulle Delmulle Architects. Anthony Duffeleer and his wife Freia Rombouts, both architects themselves, have a long-standing relationship with Frank Delmulle and Debbie Dooreman who make the location available. 

The idea was born in August 2023 and the first passage was a fact in September of that same year. The organization is entirely in the hands of Anthony Duffeleer and Freia Rombouts. Their initial intention was to facilitate a one-off passage, but this first passage has continued to resonate with visitors and artists, which has led to a second passage in which Duffeleer has once again invited a number of artists. 

Their intuitive approach ensures that the line up is very diverse but nevertheless very coherent. 

The list of artists is special and atypical to say the least. In 2023 Guillaume Bijl, Toon Boeckmans, D.D.Trans, Anthony Duffeleer, Kris Martin, Sofie Muller, Polly Pollet and Simon Verheylesonne presented their works. During this second passage, Greet Billet, Leo Copers, Anthony Duffeleer, Jacopo Mazzonelli, Joost Pauwaert, Thomas Renwart, Manon Soetens, Marinda Vandenheede, Philippe Van Snick and Yves Velter will fascinate the visitors.

Although most artists are represented by leading galleries, Duffeleer has consciously chosen to work independently, under his own steam, even without sponsors to prevent discoloration... After all, he is convinced that this initiative is complementary rather than to contradictory to the functioning of the galleries.

En cours de route is een initiatief van kunstenaar en architect Anthony Duffeleer waarbij hij geheel intuïtief een aantal collega kunstenaars uitnodigt om samen te tonen op een unieke locatie in de Vlaamse Ardennen.

Duffeleer kiest bewust voor een korte krachtige passage, geen langlopende expo. Het momentum en de interacties tussen kunstenaars maken de expo , er is geen thema, geen curator, het is een passage op kracht van de kunst en de kunstenaars. 

De locatie is uniek, een voormalige cichoreifabriek, heden tevens de thuisbasis van Delmulle Delmulle Architecten. Anthony Duffeleer en zijn echtgenote Freia Rombouts, beiden zelf ook architect hebben een jarenlange band met Frank Delmulle en Debbie Dooreman die de locatie ter beschikking stellen. 

Het idee is ontstaan in Augustus 2023 en in september van dat jaar was de eerste passage een feit. De organisatie ligt volledig in handen van Anthony Duffeleer en Freia Rombouts. 

Initieel was hun opzet om een eenmalige passage te faciliteren, doch deze is blijven nazinderen bij de bezoekers en kunstenaars, dat heeft er toe geleid dat er nu een tweede passage waarbij Duffeleer opnieuw een aantal kunstenaars heeft uitgenodigd. 

De intuïtieve aanpak zorgt ervoor dat de line up heel divers maar desalniettemin heel coherent is. De lijst van kunstenaars is op z’n minst bijzonder en atypisch te noemen. In 2023 hebben Guillaume Bijl, Toon Boeckmans, D.D.Trans, Anthony Duffeleer, Kris Martin, Sofie Muller, Polly Pollet, Simon Verheylesonne werk getoond. Bij deze tweede passage zullen Greet Billet, Leo Copers, Anthony Duffeleer, Jacopo Mazzonelli, Joost Pauwaert, Thomas Renwart, Manon Soetens, Marinda Vandenheede, Philippe Van Snick, Yves Velter de bezoeker fascineren.

Hoewel de meeste kunstenaars vertegenwoordigd worden door toonaangevende gallerijen heeft Duffeleer er bewust voor gekozen onafhankelijk te werken, op eigen kracht, zelfs zonder sponsors om (ver)kleuring te voorkomen… Duffeleer is er immers van overtuigd dat dit initiatief eerder complementair is dan tegenstrijdig aan de werking van de gallerijen.
